Why would Norton Anti virus let me know I'm being "attacked" from an IP address which

I'm on a new laptop, testing out the 60-day trial "bundle" version of their Internet Security. Already tried the FAQ at their website. No dice. No place to ask questions either.

I believe that this means that your "Host File" is corrupted. Try "Spybot" http://www.safer-networking.org/ it's a free download and it gives you easy access to the Host file. Spybot will likely eliminate the problem after running it once. Try it and then see if the item appears again on you antivirus scan.

haha your computer is committing suicide!
if you have a noront security sute ,firewall / antivirus in one its just the firewall Security aleart if you just put off the net and back on dont worry about that
It could be from a program that you have downloaded that is programed to collect updates, and that includes Norton himself. He does tell on himself that way. And if you turn it off, he will try to trick you into letting him go get his update.
