Reboot into safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly on your keyboard while the computer is starting. Once in safe mode, remove the antivirus program that you want to get rid of and reboot normally. This should make your PC start up normally.

You can still work in ''Safe Boot'' mode.

By the way what do you mean by froze? Can you be more specific?
If you mean you deleted the files without running the uninstall file then best thing to do is remove the folder you deleted from the recycle bin and run the uninstall program.

Anti-Virus install loads of registry and programs that run in the background that need to be turned off and removed to prevent errors.

Other than that run a system cleaner to find and delete all the unneeded files.
uninstall both programs, reboot, then install only the new program.
First of all you must end program. Click control alt, and delete at the same time.
Go on; have an educated guess why your computers freezing.

why do people put 2/3/4/5 programs all similar on their computer so they are all battling against each other.

Strewth !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're screwed mate no way back from that
You obviously know now that you have to uninstal or at least disable the original anti virus before installing another one.

What was wrong with the original anyway?
