Theres alot of selection of anti-virus it really depends on individual. How ever th best free anti-virus is AVG antivirus by grisoft. While as for top listing for window anti-virus is Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium. AntiVir is a consistent leader in independent antivirus tests. Avira's AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium is a low-impact, easy to use virus scanner that also includes rootkit detection and phishing protection. AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium should be used in conjunction with a firewall.

I would say probably NOD32. It has the best heuristics, detecting the most unknown viruses, has good updates, light on resources and VERY fast at scanning.

Kaspersky comes in 2nd, and Avira AntiVir PE Premium 3rd.

I personally use NOD32 and Avira AntiVir PE Classic. NOD32 is enabled 24/7, and Avira is only used for on-demand scans so they don't conflict.
I prefer Nod32 Antivirus.

AVG by grisoft.com is the best of the free anti-viruses but I like trendmicro.com anti-virus best, but it's not free.
AVG though im curious about nod32..
CA is really good. Their suite is a good buy to.
