Whats the best anti virus for my PC which is connected to Internet?

You will get a lot of opinions and lots of recommendations on this, but.......I have tried a lot of them and hands down the new ''Bitdefender total security 2008 '' is the best I have tried. Has tons of features and is solid all the way around. Also was voted best AV software in reviews. See below

dont pay for any anti-virus, as most dont have an on-access scanner (meaning scanning while you use your computer). if you dont have this, you will only know if you have a virus if you scan your computer. the on access scanners dont catch everything, so your still prone to some viruses... but less likely than one without. i would say get avg or avast... mde by the same company. if you dont want to worry about viruses in the future... get a mac. no one has made a virus for macs in just over three years. and if you do get one, it can only infect the file it was loaded into and wont spread. feel free to email me if you want links to downloads for free anti-virus.

u did not mension if u want it free or not. any way for free antivirus there are not that many out there. u can use Avg or avast. if u can buy one then i advice useing Mcafee security suit. i tried almost every antiviurs on the market and never been satisfied with one of them not even mcafee but it was good and lite does not last the computer. i tried Zone alarm security suit as i like thier firewall which is one of the best i think but it is a little bit heavy and the scan takes forever to complete (6 hours for 1230000 files) may be i have too many files. norton anti virus is great tooo but i dont like there firewall as u dont have control over it (did not try the latest) may be they changed that and it makes the computer like a pentium 2 or lower may be. so u have almost all the details and now u can choose

i like mcafee its cheap and it works
best would be symantec and Norton Internet security 2007, along with Norton antivirus,(u want to use genuine version i.e buy the software )
