Yes, AVG is a very decent, free, basic, anti-virus program.

You also might want to check out another excellent free anti-virus program called Comodo. I'm using it on a couple of systems now and very pleased with it.

I bought McAfee with my computer - but it doesn't ''catch'' everything so I loaded AVG and its GOOD.

Its easy to use and understand.

And it's FREE.

anti virus we tried Antispyware in the past and my computer stopped working, im not sure if that's because of it but ever since we've used AntiVirus it's been nothing short of efficient

AVG and Norton is ok, but dont install two anti viruses as it may clash and your system might become slow.
