Why is AVG anti-virus so good?

I've heard so many people say its the best one out there but is that just because it's free and comes with all the necessary things and theres no trial period? I'm currently using Zone alarm Suite and its working great but I want to hear more about AVG.

Its free, it updates alot, it scans your pc every day when your not using it, its small size, it dont give you bull oh and its free :)

AVG free is actually better than the paid version. It outperforms most others. It doesn't miss anything. It caught a virus on mine that 6 other antivirus programs missed. Try it you might like it better.

But with AVG, does it also allow you to scan and actually quarantine them aftre running they're free scan?

Actually when compared to other AV softwares, AVG had a low detection rate, so its not all that good. People just like it because its free but I wouldn't let a free AV software protect my computer.
