there are several good anti-virus programs. This one is known as one of the best, but then again, it isn't free. If you install it while there are other anti-virus programs running, the two of them will

a) give a MASSIVE slowdown to your PC

b) (some may) notify each other as viruses.

If you do choose to uninstall it, first, you must uninstall normally, then delete tons of registries that will prevent you from installing other anti-virus programs.

I use Norton provided by ATT for about 6 months with Vista and 2 GB RAM. I have had no problems and when our grandchildren use the computer they comment on how fast it is.

Norton now claims to use less computer resources than previous versions.
