I've not really had a bad time with AVG. Do you have any other suggestions i would like to try them out. As long as its not norton since its a hunk of ****.

You can never be more right! AVG is One big piece of ****!! ActiveVirusShield,Kaspersky and Nod32 are the best for me.Never used avg none of the family do!
perhaps you got a rogue prog labled as avg. this is an excellent prog that is free. if you dont like it, buy one
An anti virus which does not detect all the viruses and a rogue program have a lot of differences. And you look like a pro so i aint gonna go into details. ;)
